Harriet (Harvey) Hurst
--Photo from Find A Grave. Carolyn Wilson.
About 4 o'clock on Wednesday morning, the 17th inst., after a long illness, the wife of Joseph Hurst, supervisor of Lyman Township, quietly and peacefully passed away.
Death came so stealthily upon his patient victim that the anxious family would not have known of his nearness had not the loving husband been sitting at her side with her hand in his. Just before the dark curtain was lowered forever on the scenes of her life, she opened her eyes for a last look into her husband's face and with a whispered "good bye" the spirit was gone. Thus has a patient, trusting wife and mother gone, leaving behind a family to mourn.
Her age was 44 years and nearly 5 months. For 23 years and 1 day she has been the faithful wife of Joseph Hurst, and 22 years of that time they have lived in this county. On behalf of neighbors and friends, we extend to the afflicted family heartfelt sympathy in their sorrow.
